Is the 5/12 pitch requirement for aesthetic purposes or is it to make sure the house can handle the snow load? And if it is just for snow load purposes, can the 5/12 pitch requirement be waved by the board, if the drawing and build show that the less than 5/12 pitch can handle the minimum load requirement?

Hello
I am looking at property in your beautiful town and have a question on the legality of building an Earthship. I want to be off the grid hence not having any utilities set up on the property other than the all encompassing system that Michael Reynolds has established and has found to work. Are there building restrictions against Earthship concepts in Angel fire? Thank you for your time and have a great day.
