New Mexico has new requirements for off-highway motor vehicles (OHVs) designed to protect the safety of all OHV users and ensure responsible and sensitive OHV use.  The law requires all OHV users to register or acquire a permit for their OHV if it is used on public land.  Registration for NM residents:  NM Motor Vehicle division 888-683-4626 www.state.nm.us/tax/mvd.  Nonresident permit and use fees:  New Mexico Department of Game and Fish 505-476-8000 www.B4uRide.com.]]></description>
